Aren't there enough websites already? Sure, but maybe one more won't hurt, if it makes it easy for people interested in the classics, the humanities, and liberal education or higher education in general to find new information and ideas on these topics.

For some years now, I have been sounding off on the website of the Teagle Foundation, where my essays, talks, and blog entries have been posted.  Even though I am now retired, the link to Teagle's website--and its work--remains a close one. But since there are other subjects that I want to explore, an independent home on the Internet seems in order.

This website has five main parts:
  • BIOGRAPHY where you can find a short bio and my CV and contact info.
  • PROVOCATIONS material posted in hopes of eliciting responses, argument, fresh ideas.
  • SPEAKING, details on where I am lecturing and consulting.
  • PUBLICATIONS, some of my published essays, draft essays, and full text of some recent talks.
  • BLOG,   on liberal education.

The common denominators in all this are my concern for classics, liberal education, and  systematic ways to improve  students' liberal education.

I also produce from time to time an electronic  newsletter, New and Noteworthy.  Past issues are available in the Provocations section of the site.  If you'd like to receive subsequent issues send me an email at wrconnor1@gmail.com.  I will be interested in readers' reactions to what is posted on this site.
